Reflections is an easy-to-use software product that guides you through a process that creates a collection of “e-books” about your life using a familiar encyclopedia style. Reflections’ intuitive interview process includes hundreds of built-in questions and topics to stimulate your memories and emotions that prompts thought and discussion on what has mattered most in your life. You can answer each question by typing or speaking into a microphone, add photos and videos into timelines, and recount places you’ve lived and worked on Reflections’ interactive map.
Each Reflections volume represents a building block of each person’s life story. Color-coded into four levels, each builds upon the other leading to the compilation of Reflections’ ultimate goal: sharable wisdom.
Start by organizing your thoughts around each focal point. The “Me” volume begins the journey of describing yourself. Your relationships build upon “Family” and “Friends,” and continue on the “Journey” – everything from where you grew up, had fun and got in trouble, to where you moved, worked and raised a family. “Regrets” may not be what you wished for, but nevertheless are today a part of who you’ve become. In the “Bucket List” are future wishes, while “Advice” brings wisdom from past experiences. “Ramblings” leaves room for more personal expression that may, as much as anything, define who you are to future generations.
Back to TopMe — Captures your essence and documents your favorite hobbies, foods, books, movies and places.
Family — Everyone is part of a family. Each member is special to you, and this volume is where you recall how each had their impact – even your favorite pets! Photos, audio clips and documents can be added to bring them to life.
Friends — Acquaintances, or friends for life, all have had an influence – and you’ve had an influence on them. Reflections lets you place people in different groups, making it easier to recall and place them in an order and timeline that makes sense of the many relationships you’ve had over a long lifetime.
Journey — This section brings chronology and sequence to the events, people and places in your life. A set of broad questions addresses each phase of life such as childhood, marriage, career and parenthood.
Including dates in your Journey events will show on your Timeline so that you and others can see what you’ve been up to and when. Each year can be opened to reflect a robust history of events and experiences over a lifetime.
Similar to the Timeline, when you include locations with your Journey events, they will show up on the Reflections’ Map to show where you’ve lived, worked and played throughout your life. You can zoom in and out of the places and paths of your life’s adventure.
Regrets — Though often painful memories, the misgivings in our life helped to form who we are, and influenced where we’ve found ourselves today. Disappointments and do-overs, regrets and failures, all the could’ve, would’ve, should’ves are all interesting... and of valuable influence within the wisdom we are passing along.
Bucket List — Everyone wishes for things they’ve always wanted to do and accomplish, people to meet and places to see – and everyone wants to see how far they can get in checking off their dreams!
Advice — You’ve learned a lot, and many following in your footsteps do not have the experiences nor the knowledge that you’ve earned over the years, many times the hard way. From raising children to financial advice, sharing lessons learned with future generations is the greatest gift.
Ramblings — Similar to the Advice volume, this volume lets you pass along opinions, passions and memories across wide-ranging topics such as Jobs and Working, Morals and Ethics, Politics, Religion, School and Education. All your ramblings work together to capture your character.
Authors answer questions, and invite family and friends as Guests to review what they've recorded. Reflections’ more than 400 Questions stimulate your memory and get you thinking and capturing information in an easy-to-use workflow of Volume → Category → Question → Answer.
